Quartz Composer Installation Tutorial

In this tutorial you’ll learn how to install Quartz Composer.

Quartz Composer comes included with Apple’s Xcode development package. There are at least two flavours (which don’t make a difference for us, as all of them include Quartz Composer), so:

  1. Get one of the following:
    1. Snow Leopard iPhone SDK 3.1.2 with Xcode 3.2.1 (recommended)
    2. Leopard iPhone SDK 3.1.2 with Xcode 3.1.4
    3. XCode 3.2.1 Xcode 3.2.1 Developer DVD
      You’ll be asked to login with your Apple ID (you can also signup for free if you don’t have your Apple ID yet)
  2. Install downloaded package
  3. Quartz Composer is located under /Developer/Applications (not in standard/Applications directory!)
  4. Double click on Quartz Composer.app (right-click on the dock icon to choose Options → Keep in dock for easier access)

And you’re done!
